Municipalities are Trame-Verte’s main clients, and to date we have worked with more than 30 municipalities, both in the Montreal metropolitan area and elsewhere in Quebec. In addition to traditional tree inventories, our municipal tree expertise services cover several areas:
- Assessment of tree removal requests
- Arboricultural consulting services for residents
- Assessment of heritage trees or heritage sites
- Ad hoc expertise regarding trees or tree-related problems
- Risk assessment of near trees infrastructure
Tree inspection
We are qualified to perform tree risk analyses according to various international standards (TRAQ, QTRA, VALID, etc.). We use a variety of techniques and tools as needed, including drilling, coring, and sonic tomography for advanced ground or aerial assessments. We can also inspect your trees at height using drones.
Sonic tomography is a non-destructive assessment of the structural soundness of trees that allows to scan through the trunk and visualize the level of wood degradation and, by extension, assess the loss of mechanical strength associated with the presence of defects or decay (see box).
